The team at Jeff Martin Joinery is endowed with people who both flourish in their specified roles & also identify strongly as artists and makers in their own rights. Each team member has an exceptional skill set not only in the business of running our studio, but also in the making of joyful objects.
JOHN GUNNER - Lead Fabricator
shop@jeffmartinjoinery.ca

John studied and practiced art/sculpture at Concordia and then abroad before getting into general construction, woodworking, and furniture making. His career has led him to pursue residencies and exhibit his own work at the Jumex Musem in Mexico City. He led two studios prior to joining our team. John’s incredible might is balanced with his sensitivity. Every piece of furniture which comes from the studio has been wrought into existence under John’s direction.
MARK HEDLEY - Product Designer/Prototyper
mark@jeffmartinjoinery.ca

Mark is our head product developer. After nearly a decade at his previous job, employed by workshops including Pinch London and Antony Gormley, Mark’s keen eye for form and engineering coupled with a strong digital design background allow us to model, execute, engineer, and dovetail our sculptural ideas into producable works. His manner is precise and opinion is incredibly thorough. Mark’s mind is seen in the granular details of our studio’s output, and his handwork comes to light in prototyping and ceramic works.
SARAH HOLLOWAY - Business Development/Fabricator
sarah@jeffmartinjoinery.ca

Sarah is a RISD graduate who has been working in curation, building her own practice, and as ceramic/wood lead for Genesis Belanger. Sarah found her love of furniture on Fogo Island, Newfoundland where she worked in the singular furniture workshop on the island. We are lucky to have Sarah join our team on the sales and business development side, and she moves intrepidly through presentations and developments in order to spend as much of her time joyfully making.
JEFF MARTIN - Creative Director/Fabricator
info@jeffmartinjoinery.ca

Jeff is the creative director of our small studio. Interested in materials, gesture, reading, writing, and making. Jeff has maintained a studio practice for 15 years, identifying as a sculptor, who happens to have a furniture design studio. The practice has evolved to hold an archive of ideas in this time, of which new ideas are often self referential to the world the studio has built from the devotion of all of the team members current, and past.
